Gordon Ryan

That’s me, Gordon Ryan, hamming it up for the camera in my new apartment in Durham, NC. I recently managed to escape the bitter cold of New York/New England, where I spent the entirety of my life (save for four months studying abroad in Australia) up until now. Suffice it to say, I’m grateful to be in a geography without wild seasonal mood swings. Not that living in the frigid northeast was bad; things sometimes work out that way, especially when human ingenuity manages to make living in inhospitable environments possible. But I guess that’s part of the beauty of our species.

Right now, I work as a communications professional at a major public university. Outside of work, I’m an avid photographer, under-achieving guitarist, life-long gamer, seasoned web-lurker, and budding homebrewer. I’m also serious about writing, music, and philosophy (my undergrad major). I have a beautiful wife and a crazy dog. I usually can’t manage to find time for everything I enjoy.

This site is a way for me to share some of the things I’ve learned, get my opinions out in the wild, and keep the creative regions of my brain sharp.
